More than 76 percent of Immokalee residents and 43 percent of eastern Hendry County residents over the age of 25 have not earned a high school diploma or General Education Degree.

Homebuyer Education Classes & Counseling

The Empowerment Alliance offers monthly classes on preparing to be a new homeowner.  We also offer one-on-one counseling to help individuals with budgeting for a house and building or repairing credit.  The counseling is free under our HUD and County grants, except for the cost of the credit report.

Classes

Both Part 1 and Part 2 are required to meet the education requirements of most state programs.  The schedule of upcoming classes is as follows:

September

Part 1, September 13, 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Immokalee

Part 2, September 20, 6:00 to 9:00 PM in Immokalee

The classes are free, but advance registration is required.  To receive more information about one of these classes or to enroll, call Ana Salazar at 239-658-3318 or e-mail her at housing@easfonline.org and specify the class date and location you wish to attend.
